As per :faq61:, The Daily Deviation is a daily feature chosen from galleries here on deviantART.
A small assortment of submissions are chosen each day by a select group of staff/volunteer members who wish to showcase an image which they found impressive or otherwise interesting enough to deserve being brought to the attention of the community-at-large.

Creative Week: Giveaway + IntroductionWhat is Creative Week?
Every year, I take a week away from my job to do nothing but photoshoots, in order to challenge myself and improve my skills as a photographer. Despite working for the best company in the world, my career is not in photography. This sometimes makes it difficult to find the right kind of time and inspiration to capture what I want. My annual 'Creative Week,' is a way for me to do what I love without the worry of heading into work the next day. I can focus on my creativity, and nothing more. Every year I make sure to up the ante, and this year I'll be working with a lot more talent than I have in the past, on bigger productions.
This is my third Creative Week, and similar to those in the past, I will be partnering with the wonderful Miki Sarroca (~WingedInfinity). She will be serving as a make up artist, model, and she's done an incredible job of assisting me with organizing these shoots.

The loathsome creature devoid of honor that goes by the name of Pugbun has crossed the line! This vile creature steals socks, doesn't flush the toilet, and what's worst of all, slurps while drinking tea. This and many other breaches of good manners escalated to the point at which I was forced to declare war! Stand by my side my brothers and sisters! For socks! For tea! For flushing!
The peace between Pugbunistan and Tailcatia lasted for many years but it's over now! Pick a side and help your army defeat the enemy once and for all!
If your bravery and artistic input will be enough to harm our opponent you'll be handsomely rewarded for your deeds!

You Don't Deserve a DDYou might deserve a Nobel Prize (pluripotent stem cells omg).

Dudes, a DD is a feature, not an award. There's no objective standard that goes 'here you deserve a big prize now.' Hell, it's not even about the artist being a talented young newbie or a curmudgeonly old fart.
It's about the art.
It's about bringing underexposed art to the forefront for a whole day—yeah, as far as features go this one is probably a bigger deal than being in a journal only twenty people click on, but at the end of the day it's still a feature. Displaying JournalsOn your page you can have the Featured Deviation Widgets where you can display your favourite Deviations from your Gallery.
Also you can use them to display your Journals. Here is how to do that:

#1 All you have to do is edit the Widget by clicking on the little Pencil icon

Normally you would get the following:

#2 Here you have to click on the Choose A Deviation button.

#3 In the Search field you should type in one of your Journal's title and your Features, Interviews or other.
Of course at first your deviations are showing up and you can select one, but if you type in anything elso to the field, everything related to it comes up.
Pick the one you would like to be displayed.
Important: You have to change to Normal View (if you have Premium Membership) b

Welcome to Around the Site Suggestions! This article will be published every other week and it will feature different suggestions from around the site. Suggestions will be taken from the visual suggestions gallery, the written suggestions gallery , the suggestions forum, the weekly site updates from #hq and anywhere else suggestions are posted. As well as featuring these suggestions, this article will also contain different discussion topics about different aspects of the site and how you would like to see them improved.

*raberbagirl suggested "I'd like to be able to edit my older literature Deviations with Sta.sh files.

My older stories lost all their formatting (such as italics, which are really important) because it took too long to replace it all manually with html tags, but if I could upload the stories to Sta.sh, which preserves italics, and then replace the original story Deviation with that properly italicized file, it would help very much.

I really don't want to lose comments or flood my watchers by having to delete old Deviations and upload new ones from Sta.sh as if they were new, when they're really not."

My 4 most wanted improvements to Deviantart.1. Provide fields for a description (and any number of links) for each person you're watching, so this info can be displayed in our message center.
When watching someone, let us be able to write private note about that user. (such as how we found out about them or how we met them, or what we like about their work, or what kind of art they make. It doesn't matter, the point is we can write literally anything there.) There should also be fields included for us to type in the urls to their other website(s), blog(s), tumblr(s), and pages on other art sites. If that user filled out any websites, then those could be added automatically, but we should still be able to add our own. These links, and whatever we wrote in the description field, should be displayed along with the user's name/icon in our message center. Aside from this making it infinitely easier to remember who literally every single person you're watching is, and making it easier keep tabs on their other sites (and so you ~anti-tanX suggested multiple ideas including being able to have saved descriptions of the people we watch and the ability to have artists stacks include their journals as well/

It isn't redundant to have both?

Well a gallery is good for visual suggestions and mockups.
It's only a written suggestion gallery that is redundant.
But then again if there's a visual suggestion gallery, why not a written suggestion gallery. No reason not to have both.
Plus the forum deletes topics a week old. So if you made a brilliantly worded suggestion, it is gone in a week.

I agree that the written suggestions gallery is rather pointless, not only because there's the written suggestions forum, but because it is FULL of miscats and there is hardly anything that actually belongs there.

The forum doesn't delete any topic unless it's spam, as far as I know. If things don't get replied to, they get pushed off the first page, but as long as they're being replied to they stay open and on the front page.

I really like 'See Poll Results' suggestion, and the button to support suggestions. There's some other great ideas here too.

As for posting suggestions, I made the suggestion on the Site Update two weeks ago, that there should be a link to the Site Update, or to another topic for suggestions, across the bottom of the deviantArt page (with the Journal Portal, Poll, etc.). It's easy for people to delete the update or simply overlook it. If it's on every dA screen, it'll be more visible and easier for people to make suggestions. Some deviants don't visit the forums, or know about the Suggestion Galleries. I think it would be helpful to condense the options for suggestions. They seem a little scattered right now.

I think suggestions should be more unified.

Here's what I would do if it were up to me:

The staff's personal forums about suggestions should just be sticky forums in the suggestions forum.

The Written Suggestion gallery should be scrapped and be replaced by the Suggestions forum. The Written Suggestions gallery isn't used a lot and I think like 90% of submissions in there are miscats anyway.

And I don't mind that the Site Updates are a place for suggestions.

I definitely agree with the bullets. The poor written suggestions gallery is horrendous.

The one thing I don't like as much about the site updates for suggestions is that it's harder for other deviants to see the ideas posted there and show their support.
